Version 2.0 of the Square 2 Marketing website was placed live on August 15th, 2008, after a few different renditions and several months in development. The site was built in the spare time of our development team, including a few late nights and even some weekends! We did not want to compromise any client work while we toiled away on our new site, so sometimes the only available time to us was after the "real" work day was over.
Client work wasn't our only obstacle, however; the Square 2 Marketing website has an enormous amount of content, and porting it all over was a daunting task, especially since we did not reuse a single line of old code from the previous site. Early in the process, some of us began to grow tired of the website, and contemplated leaving the web development field entirely for a more simple life of farming and raising animals. Eventually, though, we got it done, and even grew to love the new site. We hope you'll agree that it's at least 600% better than the old site.
Since the new site became such a labor of love for us, we decided to build this little section to give you a window into the building process. Even if you're not a computer geek, we hope you'll find this section interesting. We also may drop a hint or two here about future functionality -- the new site is far from finished.
